New Health Minister, Matt Hancock clearly has a brief to advance the use of technology in the NHS. During his inaugural speach he set out an ambitious six-point plan for the NHS IT infrastructure, including: 1. Interoperability (APIs); 2. Procurement (in-house), 3. Cutting-edge NHS (innovation & prevention tech); 4. Supporting the NHS to leverage internal value of the NHS. NHS App in Beta in October and Live in December; 5. New skill set for the NHS Workforce; 6. Culture change - people. Agile culture. AHSNs. He has also put another £20m into the national digital exemplar programme. We look forward to seeing how this plan progresses.
